GUIDELINES

These guidelines apply to songs created during our songwriting camps or sessions and serve as a foundational reference for negotiations. We understand that each project is unique, and we are committed to finding mutually beneficial solutions.

Making the Song "Release Ready" at The Woods

The process of making a song"Release Ready" can be a long process sometimes, but our fee includes any necessary additional sessions, songwriting, production, vocal recording, mixing, and mastering. We also offer project guidance and feedback to optimize the song's launch potential. The total charge per song ranges between €1500 and €2500. If external mixing and/or mastering are preferred, we will add a discount.

Revisions are crucial for achieving the artist’s vision and can be time-consuming. Artists should consolidate feedback and understand the song's progress. Clear communication with the producer is vital. Generally, we allow two revisions each for production, mix, and master. Excessive revisions will incur additional charges.

Upon completion, you will receive a master, an instrumental, and a singback version of your song.

Remember any changes in the copyright needs to be approved by the songwriters

Master Rights

The producer holds the master rights, encompassing rights to both the production and the recording of versions conceived during camps or sessions. The acquisition of master rights is integrated into the fee, ensuring fair acknowledgment and protection of the creative works emerged during the sessions.

In other words, when you get the song “Release Ready” with us, that includes a full buy out of the master rights.

Finishing the Song with an External Producer

Artists may choose to finalize the song with another producer, requiring a buy-out of stems for a charge of €400, which also transfers the master rights. If only selected stems are required, the price is negotiable.

Artists opting for a new production and recording of vocals incur no extra costs from The Woods, but remember to keep the people on the split sheet in the loop, because they are protected by law, and they have to approve any changes of the track/song

Deadlines

Artists participating in our camps or sessions have the priority to use the songs created with their groups. Post-camp, artists have two months to decide on using the song, but earlier decisions are encouraged. The Woods will engage artists promptly post-camp to discuss song suitability and opportunities. If the artist chooses not to use the songs, we can offer them to other artists. We establish these deadlines to avoid prolonged holds and to prevent songs from becoming outdated.
