KICKSTART
4-8 week personal artist development program.
Not everyone needs a year at school or an academic institution to become an artist. Kickstart compresses a full year of artist development into one intense month, for the artist who is ready to get started. Right NOW.
With 15 years in the music business and experience teaching artist development at university level, we know what it takes to succeed, and what doesn’t.
For 4 weeks you live at The Woods in a private apartment and work every day side-by-side with our artist counsellors, songwriters and producers. You leave with a sound, a portfolio of demos, a professional EPK with profile pictures, and your first releases on their way. This is not a class. There are no other students competing for attention. It’s just you and our team, and every hour is about you.
Entry by audition
Kickstart is not for everyone, and that is the point. Appropriate applicants audition with our team. We are looking for talent and personality strong enough to “make it”, or a spark we believe we can build momentum around together.
KICKSTART 1

4-week artist development program
Only 2 spots per year
Week 1:
Define who you are as an artist, what you want to say, how you should sound, and why fans should care. Includes a personal songwriting course adapted to your level. Developing and planning how you can make your social media content.
Week 2:
Write and build your portfolio with our songwriters and producers. Learn to record yourself and deliver world-class vocals. Spend one day on our local stage with our live coach, and feel what it’s like to perform your new song live in front of 300 seats.
Week 3:
A busy week! We build your EPK, do a professional photo session and continue co-writing. Your first release is finalised and submitted for distribution. You also get an introduction to the music business, such as setting up a company and the basics of contracts. We also create content for your social media, and take a close look at what AI should and shouldn’t do for you.
Week 4:
Final adjustments to your portfolio and preparations for camp. Then we head to one of our international songwriting camps. You leave after the busiest month of your life, with a unique insight into what it takes to “make it” as an artist, and a brand new network.
The program is adjusted to each artist along the way.
KICKSTART 2

8-week artist development program
Only 2 spots per year
Everything included in Kickstart 1, plus 4 additional weeks of:
Week 5:
Release strategy. We plan your EP, your release schedule and your pitch to playlists, radio and press. Your EP songs are finalised with our producers in between the other sessions over the next 4 weeks.
Week 6:
Your live show. Together with our live coach, we build a 20 to 30 minute set, work on stage presence, talking to the audience and handling nerves. Several days on our local stage.Your songwriting will also be put to the test, as you write and record your own vocals on tracks from established international producers, ready to be pitched.
Week 7:
Visuals and media. We record a music video or visualizer for your lead single, and you get media training: interviews, podcasts and how to tell your story.
Week 8:
Showcase. You perform your live show in Oslo for invited industry guests from labels, management, booking and publishing. Followed by one-to-one meetings and a plan for the next 12 months.

Your personal content creator
A content creator follows you for all 8 weeks, in the studio, on stage, at camp and behind the scenes. Everything is edited into ready-to-post TikToks, Reels and Shorts, enough for a full year of content. Your audience doesn’t just want to see what you do. They want to see how you do it.
Your advertising agency
An agency builds the creative concept and launch campaign for your first release, and runs your paid advertising. Includes a €3,000 ad budget.
Your PR and radio campaign
A professional PR agency and radio plugger work your lead single toward press, radio and playlists. Includes a €3,000 campaign budget.
